Why is A2Z Medical Centre different from other GP practices?

We have a highly committed practice team made up of different health professionals, working closely together. A few details that set us apart from other practices are:

  • Onsite pathology (blood tests)
  • Access to Bulk Billed Radiology
  • Priority access to our Allied Health and other specialists.

Appointments

The practice generally works on a numbers system. Each patient is given a number in the queue. You may call early in the morning and ask one of our friendly receptionists to add your name to the list, after which you will be allocated a number over the telephone. Due to the unpredictable nature of medical care, our doctors may occasionally run late due to emergency cases.

Please note, if you require a longer appointment please inform the receptionist. Similarly, if more than one member of your family requires to be seen, please make an appointment for each of them to ensure enough time is allocated.

We are aware that nobody likes to wait so we work hard to adhere to our appointment schedule. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let one of our receptionists know.

Consultation Fees

For Medicare card holders, all GP consultations are bulk billed. If you are a private patient and do not have a current Medicare card, fees will apply and are as follows:

Standard consultation $50.00

Long consultation $ 75.00

This fee is subject to change according to the level and length of your consultation. All fees are payable at the time of consultation.

All workers compensation claims will only be billed if you can supply all details regarding your claim. If you are unable to supply the required information, you will be billed as a private patient.

Contacting your Doctor

You can contact our doctors on the practice’s main telephone number. If the doctor is attending to a patient, you may be asked to leave a message. The doctor will return your call at his earliest convenience.

As a general rule, test results such as pathology and radiology, will not be given over the telephone. This is due to the strict confidentiality procedures we have in place and often, your results may need further clarification best given at a face-to-face consultation. Your treating doctor may, however, leave simple instructions for you with our receptionist such as the need for you to make a follow-up appointment or check-up.

If you would like the full details of your test results, please make an appointment to see the doctor. This should not take long if you have no other queries or concerns on the day.

Auto Reminder Systems

Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may issue you with a message from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let the receptionist know.

Confidentiality

A2Z Medical Centre implements the highest standards in patient record confidentiality and our protocols for maintaining confidentiality are accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. All our employees sign a confidentiality agreement.

Change of Details

Please inform the receptionist if any of your details such as address, telephone number, Medicare or Healthcare numbers have changed so your information is always up to date.

Extra Care for the Disabled Patient

Our practice is disability friendly. The clinic is wheelchair accessible from both the front and end of the clinic and our bathrooms have ample space for your wheelchair. If you have any special needs or require any assistance, please inform one of our friendly receptionists.
