Low iron can leave you feeling constantly tired, short of breath, or mentally foggy. At A2Z Medical Centre, we offer safe and effective iron infusions to help replenish your iron levels quickly when oral supplements aren’t enough.
What Is an Iron Infusion?
An iron infusion delivers iron directly into your bloodstream through an intravenous (IV) line. It’s ideal for patients who can’t tolerate iron tablets, haven’t improved on supplements, or need rapid replenishment.
Who May Benefit?
+ Iron deficiency (with or without anaemia)
+ Persistent fatigue
+ Heavy menstrual bleeding
+ Pregnancy-related iron deficiency
+ Chronic gut conditions (e.g. coeliac, IBD)
+ Pre- or post-surgery optimisation
The Process
How It Works
The iron medication (Ferinject) is not included in the procedure fee and must be purchased separately from your local pharmacy with a prescription provided at the consultation.
1. Initial Consultation
GP will review your symptoms, medical history, and blood test results to see if an iron infusion is suitable. Bulk billed, no out-of-pocket fee for eligible Medicare holders.
2. The Infusion
The infusion is administered onsite in our dedicated treatment room. The process takes approximately 30–45 minutes. The fee for the procedure is $150
3. Aftercare
A follow-up iron level test is done 4–6 weeks later. A recent iron study and full blood count (within last 3 months) are required before infusion.
