Which one is healthier; Brown Egg or White Egg?
Eggs have, for a long time, been a staple in many people’s diets. They boast many positive influences as they are a source of protein and can be eaten in many different ways. Recently, a lot of attention has been focused on the several different types of eggs that are available. Of these types, there are white eggs and brown eggs. Now, you may be asking what’s the point? Are they both the same? Is colour not the only difference?
The answer to your question is: yes, white and brown eggs are the same in regards to protein, nutrients, and taste. The popularity of eggs has cause many myths to be created about what to buy in the hopes that you will pick the more expensive option.
The only difference between the two is the colour, size, and cost. The size and colour of the eggs are dependent on genetics and diet of the chicken that they came from. Scientists have found that red-feathered eggs lay brown eggs and white feathered eggs lay white eggs. These differences are also marked by the fact that white eggs are smaller than brown eggs. The larger size of the brown eggs means that they are also more expensive that white eggs.
These slight differences have caused some myths to be created about one being better than the others but this is not true. Basically, the decision between white or brown eggs depends totally on you and your preferences.
